A partner that simplifies publishing and streamlines information management
The University Library of the Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín in Trenčín (hereinafter also referred to as the “University Library” or “UK TnUAD”) is an academic library serving the entire university; it functions as a library and information, bibliographic, educational, and training center that provides library and information services to students, researchers, faculty members, and university staff, as well as, to the extent possible, other entities and the general public.
The University Library also oversees the FPT Faculty Library, provides methodological guidance to the FSEV Faculty Library, and manages the library collection for the Creative Center of the University of Trenčín.

Among the most important current goals of the TnUAD University Library are the use of internet technologies and artificial intelligence tools to provide users with timely and effective access to information, instructional, and educational materials. Equally important is streamlining internal and collaborative processes, systematically updating and restructuring the library collection, and actively engaging in the fields of open science and citizen science.
Our Mission in Service to the Academic Community
Acquisition, registration, cataloging, preservation, and provision of access to periodicals, non-periodicals, and information sources for the entire university, including all faculties and university-wide departments.
Providing, coordinating, making available, and subsequently managing access to electronic resources, including licensed full-text and citation databases and Open Access resources.
Cataloging and making approved theses available.
Ensuring the maintenance of records of publication activity and feedback on it.
Oversight of ISBN allocation.
Provision of research and consulting services.
Organizing training sessions, lectures, and webinars focused on the effective use of available library and information resources and services.
Development of informational and educational materials.
History of the Library
From humble beginnings to a modern center of knowledge. Since its inception, the TnUAD University Library has undergone dynamic development, transforming from a small information department into the heart of the university, well-equipped in terms of technology and collections.
Learn about the key milestones in our history that have enabled us to offer students and educators comprehensive services and access to tens of thousands of documents today.
The foundations for today's library were laid by the Department of Scientific and Technical Information, which had been operating at the university since the very founding of Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín.
Building on the foundations of the former Department of Scientific and Technical Information, the independent TnUAD University Library was officially established.
A new, modern concept for the library took shape. Its goal was to provide users with broader options for accessing information, with a particular emphasis on the use of new information and communication technologies.
The plan developed in previous years has begun to take shape. The library has acquired its own premises, to which it has moved, and has been equipped with the necessary facilities and technology.
Thanks to the gradual expansion of its collections and improvements in technology, the library now offers more than 52,000 items (including over 24,000 theses) and an extensive portfolio of academic journals. Users have access to modern computer equipment, renowned e-resources, and professional library and information services, including research assistance and training, all in a pleasant environment.
