History

The TnUAD University Library (UK TnUAD) was established in 1999 from the foundations of the Department of Scientific and Technical Information, which had existed since the very beginning of the Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín. However, it wasn’t until 2000-2001, when the UK TnUAD concept of ensuring broader possibilities for providing information to its users, even via the use of information and communication technologies and systems was developed and two years later, in 2003, started to be actively implemented. At that time, the University Library moved to its own premises and got equipped with the necessary facilities and technologies. Technological equipment, premises and library fund have gradually improved and expanded, and currently UK TnUAD offers a book collection consisting of more than 52,000 book units (of which more than 24,000 are final theses), an extensive portfolio of journals focused on TnUAD study programs, modern computer equipment, access to reputable electronic resources, a pleasant work and study environment, and professional library and information, bibliographic, consulting and training services.
