Univerzitná knižnica Trenčianskej univerzity Alexandra Dubčeka v TrenčíneThe University Library of the Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín (further also referred to as the "University Library" or "UK TnUAD") is an academic library with university-wide scope and serves as a library, information, bibliographic, educational and training workplace that provides library and information services to students, scientists and research workers, faculty and employees of the university and, if applicable, to other entities and the general public. The University Library also encompasses the Faculty Library of FPT in Púchov, methodologically manages the Faculty Libraries of FPT and FSEV, and processes the book fund for the Creative Center of TnUAD. 


The vision of the UK TnUAD is to ensure and enable access to relevant and high-quality library resources and electronic information anytime and anywhere, thus contributing to increasing the quality of education, science and research. 


The mission of UK TnUAD is:

 

  • acquiring, registrating, cataloging, preserving and accessing periodical and non-periodical publications and information sources for the entire university, including all faculties and university-wide workplaces
  • ensuring, coordinating, making available and subsequently managing access to electronic sources, including licensed full-text and citation databases and Open Access resources
  • cataloging and making available passed final theses
  • registrating publication activities and responses to them
  • issuing ISBNs
  • providing search and consulting services
  • organizing training seminars and lectures focused on effective usage of available library and information resources and services
  • creating information and educational materials

The most important current goals of UK TnUAD include continuous improvement efforts related to the usage of Internet technologies, applications, and artificial intelligence to ensure timely delivery of information, as well as instructional and educational materials to library users, optimalization of internal and collaborative processes, reorganization and revitalization of the library collection, or active engagement in the field of Open and Citizen Science.
